A shift in the weather pattern will bring increased rain chances to South Texas this week. While today's showers will be hit-or-miss, better chances arrive Wednesday through Friday as upper-level disturbances move through. Highest amounts are most likely across the north.

There will be a low to medium chance (40-60%) for showers and thunderstorms today. Otherwise, expect it to be hot once again across much of the region with highs generally in the 90s.

Partly cloudy skies are expected today across area beaches with temperatures in the upper 80s with a low to medium chance (40-60%) for showers and thunderstorms. There is a low risk of rip currents. Use caution when in the water.

Tonight expect activity to continue again tonight with showers and thunderstorms. Overnight lows will range from the mid 70s inland to around 80 near and along the coast.

Low to medium rain chances remain as we head into next week, with warmer weather expected to persist.
